Law year 2 electric boogaloo

Image
Almost two months has absolutely flown by since my last blog and I’m not even slightly surprised at how quickly it’d gone by with how hectic second year has been so far. Rather than repeating first year and isolating myself I decided I’d force myself to join a society, and that society is cheerleading and I absolutely love it. I really can’t thank my best friends and partner enough for encouraging me to join cheer because it has done wonders for my mental and physical health; having two hours a week just focused on training really makes a difference and is such a nice break from all the stress that comes with university. I’ve made the most amazing friends on cheer and it’s just made my whole university experience so much better as I was hardly popular in the friends department last year lmaooo :/  On top of cheerleading my main priority is of course my degree, law. I can confirm EU and Land Law are the worst things ever and I can’t wait for them to be done with. Criminal and me...

Settling into university, second year 💞

Hello and thank you again for taking the time to read my blog, unless you’ve swiped off now which is completely understandable as I don’t blame you. Recently I moved back to University after working full time all “summer” so I thought to give a little update on how I’m finding things so far. This year I’ve moved into a house with some friends rather than student halls, I’m really enjoying this and a huge pro of living in a house is the difference in price, it is so so much cheaper to live in a house (seriously it’s crazy). Of course another pro is living with people you get on with, being able to sit and chat in the kitchen and overall have a fab ol time. My bedroom is on the ground floor which seemed really scary to start with but I’ve had no issues at all. I absolutely love my room, it’s really big and has tonnes of space for me which was super important as I ended up buying a desk for my uni room. In student housing desks are provided but the one provided for myself was too ...

Tenerife /// Holiday blog

Image
Hello hello hello, Officially back in the UK from the most wonderful time abroad. I say official as I have already got a cold and if that isn’t enough proof I’m not sure what is. For the last week I’ve been in Tenerife with my amazing partner and wOweee what a lovely place. Thought I’d write a little blog about my time there/nice places to go/how we booked a holiday etc as booking your first holiday away can be so confusing and stressful! We booked a few months ago through Love Holidays and everything was so so easy, flights, transfers, hotel, food etc. Was all sorted within a 10 minute call so that was easy enough. Then it’s just a case of packing which is absolutely awful, the process took me about a week of throwing things in and out of my case and trying to get it under 20kg which was a nightmare! Whilst Harry’s packing took a total of an hour which is about right. The flights to and from Tenerife which we’d booked through Ryanair (risky eh) were actually fine??? On time??...

Uni room essentials!!!

Right so, the countdown is on, it’s a few weeks till people either go to or go back to university. So what better time to make a list of things to remember? Exactly. This is also to help myself so I don’t forget things which I did last year, here we go. I’ve also attached some photos of my uni room below, lil inspo maybe :) Bedroom: A rug - whether or not you have a carpet in your room it is soooo important to take a rug! It’ll make the whole place so much more homely especially if you have wooden floors. A tray for your desk - you need somewhere for bits and bobs like sticky tabs and highlighters (especially if you’re studying law) and it’s easier if they’re all in one place. A small set of draws - I have two small sets from ikea for about £15 each and they’re amazing. Uni rooms only tend to have one set of draws and you don’t realise how much storage you need until you get there (for makeup/notebooks etc.) An over the door mirror - get yourself to wilkos as these mirrors ar...

Summer 2019 // results // going into second year

Since finishing my first year of university I’ve been one busy gal! I had my last exam in  May and started my new job two days later. I’m currently working for an accident management company in admin and it’s amazing work experience and overall great as of the routine and the people. I got my university results back not too long and I’m overall amazed with myself! I finished off with a high 2:1 in my first yearbook of studying law and I really could not be prouder! I’m so excited to be able to go back to university and keep studying (I’m really sad I genuinely love law ffs). Next year I’m gonna be living in a house which should be nice and the modules I’ll be taking are criminal law, EU law, land law, medical law and police powers. All of which should be very interesting and demanding....EU law however will just be plain stressful. It’s crazy but I really do  miss studying and going to the library and spending ages making pretty notes! I even started reading The Secret Barri...

Life at University during exam season

Exam season has finally and officially arrived, in fact I am in the middle of my exams right now and needed to procrastinate a little so for my own good I'll try keep this short. As a first year law student with as I have already stated, not an amazing flat (simply because we are all very different people in different years, no shade to anyone....well maybe to two of them) and not the best social life; university has been a struggle. Resulting in me coming back to university after Christmas and being very exam focused, ensuring I keep up with all deadlines and completing all set work, it seems like my last assignment was forever ago but that took up a lot of my time too; mainly because I had nothing else to do. Anyhow, I believe that due to all the work and assessments for first year being over I would give myself and other students some tips ready for next year: First of all, make sure that you try to stay on top of the set reading as much as possible, it is set and is the min...
